Bacterial Viral Filters

Bacterial viral filters are medical devices installed in breathing circuits and respiratory ventilators to prevent the spread of germs and viruses. Patients, medical devices, and the surrounding environment can all be safeguarded from airborne pathogens by placing a filter between the breathing circuit and the airway interface. With a bacterial filter being used, the patient is protected in the event that he or she breathes room air through the safety valve if it opens in the event of sudden failure, and the equipment is protected in the unlikely event that it is contaminated with exhaled air. Filters placed in exhaust vents eliminate the risk of spreading germs to the outside. These small filters are an essential component to a breathing ventilator.
